J. Nealin Parker, a former elections consultant in Liberia, has traveled in more than forty countries in America, Europe, Africa, and South East Asia. A graduate of Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and a field organizer for the Obama Campaign in her home state of Virginia, she is currently working on "Managing Global Insecurity," a joint project of the Brookings Institution and New York University's Center on International Cooperation.

Nealin's travel writing and photographs have appeared in the Lexington New Gazette and been exhibited at the Bernstein Gallery in Princeton, New Jersey. She is co-author of a 2008 report on reforming Provincial Reconstruction Teams in Iraq and Afghanistan.
