Increments
I greatly enjoyed the reception and signing for Regina Granne's magnificent Increments. As familiar as I thought I was with Regina's work, I learned much more from seeing these earlier pieces and from reading the interview included in the book. The interview surprised me by its length, and how detailed it was in addressing Regina's personal life and artistic concerns.... I am a writer and may contact you about learning how to produce books as beautiful as Increments. I've known about hand binding for many years, but have not yet tackled an edition. Maybe in the future.

Codex in Crisis
Given free rein, Grafton is able to go into more detail about [...] the ineffable something that is added to scholarship when a researcher shares a physical workspace with sleepy vicars who visit the Bodleian in their bedroom slippers.
- Caleb Crain, Steamboats Are Ruining Everything
In this form [Codex in Crisis] is a precious, bibliophile statement for craftsmanship, and for a cultural and scientific medium which, like the library itself, is much more than a collection of search terms.
- Dan Stoffelsen, NRC Handelsblad, Amsterdam, the Netherlands (translated from the Dutch by A. Bick)
You're right - Codex in Crisis is a hot commodity!

13 Poems
I found myself quite enamored of poem #13 itself, "For My Mother," which is a lovely poem, delicate and touching, if also a little distant in ways I find pleasing. "I know not where / To touch with delicacy / Against the pen of experience" is an inspired line.

Jordan McIntyre's book moves like a bicycle ride through the close edges of Brooklyn. Smiling all the while, at life's bittersweet moments. Calm, reassuring and real.

When I Wished I Was Here
Reportage doesn't get more firsthand than this. Rhinebecker [Derek] McGee parses Port-a-Shitter graffiti, eulogizes a fallen comrade, relates with chilling simplicity how it feels to order an Iraqi civilian killed, and shares the eerie displacement of coming home.
- Nina Shengold, Chronogram, Kingston, NY
Beautifully written and very moving... God knows it's a story that needs to be told, and Derek tells it like it is.
- Wes Craven, Hollywood, CA
I have used When I Wished I was Here several times in the classroom, both for an introductory US history survey called "Why We Fight" and for an upper-level course on "War and American Society." The book is powerfully written, provocative enough to stimulate student discussion, elegantly packaged, and the perfect length for a supplemental reading about the human dimensions of the Iraq War. My students have really responded to Derek McGee's work, with many listing it as their favorite reading on their course evaluations.

It's a fast and intense read that grabs you in a sort of Holden Caulfield way.

Take a Right at the Tank
I just returned from two months working at JFK Hospital in Monrovia. While there I was introduced to Nealin Parker's book and it was a nice grounding for me as I went through some difficult emotional struggles as a physician working there. I just purchased 4 copies and plan to give them to friends and family to help them understand what I went through. Thank you for your contribution to Liberia's literature.
- Braden Hexom, New York, NY
I read and loved this book while I was in Liberia. [Nealin Parker] writes honestly, and doesn't hide the conflicting emotions that confront every well-intentioned expat working in the country. I strongly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in development work or expat life in Liberia.
- Shelby Grossman, My Liberia Blog
Nealin's book is remarkable. She has a great talent for making the reader feel present. In doing that with me she has educated me very much.

Fabulous! The writing, the photos, the drawings, the Ambassador's preface, the quality of the publication. Classy, classy, classy.
